Dear Parent/Guardians, On Friday, 26th of July 2024 the House Leadership Team students at Cecil Hills High School have organised an Olympic Opening Ceremony to celebrate the Paris 2024 Olympic Games. On this day, students will celebrate their countries of origin at lunchtime with music and recognition of student attire. This day marks the start of the Cecil Olympics challenges happening throughout weeks 2 to 4. Students are permitted to attend school wearing appropriate clothing that represents their country of origin. The following guidelines apply to the 2024 Olympic Games Jersey Day at Cecil Hills High School: Despite the casual clothing, the school day is a normal one. The same expectation applies in regards to work, effort and behaviour. Students must wear clothing that represents a country and NOT generic tracksuits or hoodies. NBA, NRL, A-League, EPL and any other team based sporting jerseys are not acceptable, unless they are a jersey worn by national teams from around the world (i.e an Opals Jersey, Boomers Jersey, NRL Kangaroos, Matilda’s Jersey or Socceroos jersey). Students must wear full school uniform or Sports/PE uniform if they do not come dressed in clothing that represents their country/countries of origin. Students must not wear clothes which contain offensive slogans, pictures or words, political messages, or any design which may cause offence. Tights are NOT permitted to be worn. Students must wear clothes that are safe and appropriate for a normal school day, If students have sport or practical lessons, they must dress appropriately to participate in their learning. This includes appropriate sneakers for physical activity. Ugg boots, open toe shoes, thongs or crocs will NOT be permitted. Students who breach these expectations will be required to wear borrowed school uniforms from lost property or will be sent home. Students wearing appropriate clothing are to bring a gold coin which will be donated to the Organ Foundation of Australia. Thank you for your support. Yours faithfully, Mr Andrew King Principal
